With people feeling the adverse effects of the destruction of the environment, it is really time for everyone to look for ways to apply green living. Even in your choice of heating systems and radiator, this is applicable. It is even so much so since many heating systems and also the radiator use up non-renewable fuel.

Solar Heating and Geothermal Systems

Both the solar heating and the geothermal systems are environmentally friendly. That is why they are also worth considering. Geothermal heating systems make use of the earth’s natural heat in the ground. The system basically takes the cold air out of the home and pumps in hot air into it. But another advantage of using this heating system is that the temperature is almost constant so it does not have to start up again and again. In turn, this makes the geothermal heating system more energy efficient.

On the other hand, solar heating comes in two types. The first would heat liquid or air using the heat or warmth collected from the sun. Then there is a pump to distribute the air to the rest of the home or building. The second type uses heat diffusion. The heat is simply made to fill the space or area so that there is no longer any need for pumps for distribution.

Pellet and Wood Heaters

Wood boilers before were said to be inefficient since there is no control of heat produced. The emissions can also be a great disadvantage. Of course, you would also need a lot of wood in order to heat your home continuously. The wood boilers today are more efficient though. They are also convenient to use and requires minimal maintenance from its users. In fact, wood boilers as heating system emit 90% less of hazardous emissions. And what really makes it convenient to use are the pellets which are used as fuel. The pellets are made from wood and waste materials so it is relatively environment friendly heating system. And just by filling the hopper and removing the ash, you are done with your maintenance. You no longer need to maintain a radiator.

Space Heaters and under the Floor Heating Systems

The best thing about under the floor heating systems (interesting to know is that the Dutch term is Verwarming) is that they are under the floors so they do not obstruct or take up space. These systems use pipes or heating coils which can either be heated by hot water based or electricity. And because heat is distributed through radiation or radiant heat, these systems are energy efficient. Again, saving on energy is beneficial not just to your pockets but to the environment as well. It is even said to be a healthy way to heat your home.

If you only need to heat a particular room a space heater may be enough. This may be a good solution in rooms and buildings where there is not central heating. Even if you have to move from one place to another or from one room to another, a space heater is usable because it is portable. You would not need a heavy duty radiator. This type of heating can use gas, oil or electricity. It is a fire hazard though so caution should be exercised when it is used. Carbon monoxide poisoning could also happen when kerosene and gas are used. You can click here and read more interesting tips to reduce your energy consumption.
